Have you thought about taking up running but are unsure where to start? Yoga instructor, health coach, personal trainer and running enthusiast, Robyn Bumgarner, has created a 10 week program to help you run your first 5K. All you need is a pair of running shoes and a watch with a secondhand to complete this program. You’ll receive a training plan, calendar to mark your training days and information on tracking apps for your smartphone. She will discuss food, cross-training and stretching to help you get you start-line ready to rock your race. Before you leave, the group will go out together and complete the first day of training together. Everyone will finish the workshop with a few strength moves and yoga stretches. After the workshop is over, each participant will be added to a private Facebook group to continue to connect, encourage and hold one another accountable throughout training.
The time frame for this training program will prepare you for the Comprehensive Pain and Wellness Oktoberfest 5K on Saturday, September 16th.
