We believe that proper nutrition plays a large role in achieving wellness and even getting pain under control.  With the help of the internet and social media, information on nutrition is at our fingertips!  However, it can be OVERWHELMING and often misleading!  You may have found yourself asking questions such as: Is gluten bad?  Should I be eating dairy?  Are artificial sugars safe? Should I be taking supplements? Don't panic.  We can help you simplify.

The first questions we ask are "what are your goals?"  "Are you wanting to lose weight or just interested in learning how to eat healthier?  Have you been dealing with chronic illness or has your doctor told you that you are pre-diabetic or have Type 2 diabetes?"  Depending on how you answer, you may be directed to nutritional coaching, supplementation or lab testing.

 

Coaching

Robyn Bumgarner, personal trainer, health coach and yoga instructor, can guide you hand-in-hand through your nutritional journey and help you reach your goals.  She can help you lose the weight or help you understand how to better control your blood sugar with diet.  Maybe that skin condition is due to a food sensitivity?  Robyn can help you complete an elimination diet to find out what foods could be triggering your symptoms.

Robyn offers two options: individual or group coaching. Group coaching entails class sizes from 4-10 and lasts 6 weeks.  It includes weekly meetings where the group collectively discusses the complexity of the current food system, solutions, and goal setting.  Individual coaching is more in depth one-on-one. You and Robyn will put together a plan to help reach your health goals through nutrition.  Robyn adds accountability to your plan through email contact in between meetings.

 

Lab Testing 

Patients frequently ask what supplements he or she should be taking.  Although we can make suggestions, knowing exactly what your body needs is ideal.  We strongly recommend micronutrient testing.  You can read in detail what micronutrient testing is on the lab testing page, but, overall, it gives the doctor an excellent picture of what's going on inside your body.  With that knowledge, she can recommend the right supplementation regiment for you.  This often cuts back the amount of supplements the patient is taking and in turn, saves the patient money.
